Life of Pi (2012) is a Magical Adventure story:

Writer Yann Martel's best selling novel is "Life of Pi." It is a magical adventure story centering on Pi Patel, the precocious son of a zoo keeper. Dwellers family decides  that they move from  Pondicherry India to Canada hitching a ride on a huge freighter. After a shipwreck, Pi finds himself adrift in the Pacific Ocean on a 26- foot lifeboat with a zebra, a hyena, an orangutan and 450- pound Bengal tiger named Richard Parker,all fighting for survival. Ang Lee's  "life of Pi" is racking -up critical acclaim and preaward  season buzz along with solid box office numbers. Though, for every mention of the film( Life of Pi)'s beautiful 3D or amazing CGI tiger, There is a fuddled viewer confused by the movie's controversial ending.The readers of "Life of Pi" of Yann Martel's original Novel (the ones who made it to the end) have already faced the challenging last minute question presented by the story's writer's, but film goers expecting a fanciful adventure at sea have been understandably caught off guard by the finale. No doubt, viewers will debate the ending with friends and family, but to help steer discussion we have put together a brief analysis of the "Life of Pi" ending explaining why the final question may not be as cut and dry as some movie goers seem to think.We do not want to be spoiled  for "Life of Pi" .

Life of Pi is a 2012 American 3D Adventure drama movie based on Yann Martel's 2001 novel of the same name . Directed by Ang Lee, the movie is based on an adapted screeenplay by David Magee, and stars Suraj Sharma, Irrfan Khan,Gerard Depardieu, Tabu, and Adil Hussain.The sttoryline revolves around a 16 year old boy named Piscine Molitor "Pi" Patel,  who survives a shpwreck in which his family dies, and is stranded in the Pacific Ocean on a lifeboat with a Bengal tiger named Richard parker.The movie had its worldwide premiere as the opening film of the 50th New York film festival at both the Walter Reade Theater and Alice Tully Hall in New York City on September 28,2012.

Life of Pi marketing: 

Due to the film holiday release, Life of Pi's financial success had been under review. Dorothy Pomerantz of Forbes said, It looks like chances are very slim that the film will earn back its production and marketing costs let alone turn a profit. During the marketing campaign for Life of Pi, the film was promoted as the next  Avatar in trailers and TV spots. James Cameron, the director of |Avatar, Later became the subject of two featurettes that focus on the film's 3D and computer generated imagery. In addition, the original novel was re released in a movie tie in edition. this was later followed by the release of the making of Life of Pi; A film, a Journey , a book by Jean-Christophe Castelli that details how Life of Pi was brought to the big screen.
